Concrete Block (CMU) Calculator
Concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls: calculates the number of blocks and the mortar, and additionally gives the **grout / core-fill concrete** quantity — the item that most distinguishes blockwork from brickwork.

CALCULATION
METHOD
Blocks are counted as for brickwork; wall volume
V = A × Wblock; core fill Vg = V × void ratio × grouted percentage.- The void ratio varies widely between block types; 0.40–0.50 is typical, but take the value from the manufacturer data.
- Core fill must be self-compacting or fine-aggregate concrete placed and compacted in lifts; its wastage is measured separately.
